A beautiful Historical and Artistic Site dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries that warrants a leisurely stroll around to admire its history built in stone. Its harmonious architectural and artistic personality is thanks to its historic patronage by The Order of Santiago.

Essential visits

The Plaza Mayor is the focal centre, and the starting point from where the main streets all grew up. Many of the town’s essential monuments are close by, such as the Town Council, the Church of San Andrés, the Bust of Quevedo, the Convent of  Santo Domingo where Quevedo lived and died and the Casa del Caballero del Verde Galán (The House of the Green Gallant Knight). The town and surrounding area lends itself to some wonderful sightseeing.
